The Most Common causes
for benign hysterectomies are Fibroids and Abnormal Uterine Bleeding.
Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy (LSH) is the least invasive and
reduces hospital stay, blood loss, infection, pain and scars and patients
time off from work. Also, as an outpatient procedure, LSH has reduced
the costs significantly.
Alternatives to Laparoscopic
Supracervical Hysterectomy (LSH) are:
- Total Abdominal Hysterectomy
(TAH)
- Laparoscopically Assisted
Vaginal Hysterectomy (LAVH)
- Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
(LH)
- Total Vaginal Hysterectomy
(TVH)
- Myomectomies

Medical Evaluation
Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Assessment, also known as the MELHA Score, reduced
the conversion rate Intra-operatively to 1 Case in 89 Cases. Instrumental
is the Ultrasound Assessment Pre-Operatively to include measurements of
each fibroid and the width of the uterus at the level of the uterine arteries.
Quality Ultrasound is assured with the AIUM Certification by the American
Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
